Annotation

The sketches propose that this ethnography would look at Christian churches in non-christian countries or less open countries. I think the proposal is constructive and that very interesting findings could emerge from the application of such a proposal

CAO Nanlai: China's Jerusalem

The book starts with an introductory chapter which explains the puzzle and the basic theoretical arguments. It also questions the bias in "Western" anthropological practices. Next it gives a section providing background information about the space: Wenzhou. Then each body chapter focuses on a group of actors, including for example christian bosses, females, and migrant workers. The conclusion reiterates the major arguments. The structure of the book, I think, is well presented.
