As we learn more about the tragic impact of the 2008 housing crisis, one of the most apparent repercussion included the hazards of areas that had long experienced instances of institutional neglect. These areas were hit the hardest.
On this map of the foreclosures, is a wide view of Los Angeles County. At the center, are the red areas.
This also happens to be one of the poorest districts in Los Angeles county. It is the most densely populated residential area and represents half of what is commonly known as South Central.
The areas in red has long been marked as a hazardous area due to the propensity for joblessness, poor housing structures and a high volume of criminal activity in this area.
